Herceptin ReCap: 2/14
Knock on wood, I think my abdominal incision is finally almost completely healed. Just in case the wound reopens, Dr. Orman put through the paperwork for out-patient surgery to redo the sutures. It’s a little ridiculous how very long it took to close up — I’m now almost 5 months post-op.
Weight: Back down to 120, now that I can swim and run again.
General condition: 100% of normal.
Blood Tests: n/a
Hair Loss: Daily hair loss is definitely back to normal or maybe even better (that is, less) than normal. I went in for my first post-chemo haircut in January. The hairdresser actually thinned out the bottom of my hair for better body/shape. Since I no longer worry about hair loss, I’m back to normal shampooing, drying, brushing, everything. Eyebrows are filling in quickly and other body hair is also returning.
Body Aches: None.
Peripheral Neuropathy: Some periodic numbness in my left foot, but I think that’s a result of intermittent swelling from last month’s ankle sprain.
Nausea and Vomiting: None.
Intestinal Upset: None.
Mouth & Nose: None.
Nails & Skin: Nails are all healthy and strong. My skin is taking a little longer to recover, but it’s certainly much less irritated, rashy, and dry than in December.
